Chapter 17

The Shadow Prophecy

Sophietia’s magic burned my skin. The black magic was so dark it was fighting against my light magic.

“Enobaria! Get what I need!” Sophietia yelled

Enobaria walked up to us. The first thing she did was she took out a knife and cut Clove’s hair from where it started at the top of her ponytail. Clove’s hair was choppy and now fell to just below her chin. She then cut Elsa’s arm, bringing tears to El’s eyes. Enobaria collected Elsa’s tear in a small test tube.

Finally she came up to me, cutting my arm and taking some of my blood.

‘I’m Sorry’ Enobaria mouthed

She moved over and dumped the items into a cauldron.

“An now for the last item.” Sophietia said

“How are you going to find your bone if you were drowned in the lake?” I asked

“What are you talking about?” she laughed

“The Bone of the Owner?”

“You heard the prophecy wrong than lovely. It’s the bone of the follower.” She said “The follower of the Child of the Elements. The one who followed you in here even when you told her not to”

I fought against the spell as Sophietia walked up to Fawn and cut off her left arm. Fawn screamed in pain.

“Fawn!!” I yelled struggling against the black magic

“Pathetic humans” Sophietia said “Enobaria! Is it ready!?”

“Yes Milady” Enobaria said softly… even from a far distance I could tell she was terrified

The shimmering ghostlike Sophietia stepped into the cauldron the dark blue liquid surrounded her, incasing her form until she was engulfed by it.

As soon as the blue liquid began to dissipate, I already knew what had happened… Sophietia took on a physical form.

As soon as her eyes opened a devious smile spread across her face. I struggled against the dark magic… If I couldn’t get free I knew all my friends would die before my eyes.

Then I remembered the queen of shadows herself: Whisp. I called out for her unknowing if she’d come to my rescue (which she did)

One by one Whisp touched our shoulders freeing us from the dark magic.

“Scorpius, get the others back to the cup.” I said

“We’re not leaving you Rose” he argued

“Fawn needs medical attention, and this is my fight you need to get back to Hogwarts while you still can” I said “Go”

The four of them stubbornly got together took hold of the cup.

“Well looks like your back up is gone. What are you going to do now?” Sophietia taunted

“I will stand and fight” I said calling my wings and holding my wand.

“Then lets fight” she retorted

All I remember from the battle was my fire, her dark magic, and a large explosion. I’m not sure how or when I was brought back to the school, but what I do know is when I woke up my right arm was bandaged as well as my left leg, breathing hurt so I had a broken rib or two, and I couldn’t hear anything. That and apparently Scorpius hadn’t left my side since I was brought back.

“Scorpius.” I said unsure if it came out right our how loud I was talking “Scorpius wake up!”

When he woke up he said something inaudible to my ears, so I just shook my head and said in a, hopefully, calm voice, “I can’t hear anything”

He quickly ran and got the nurse, who tested my hearing. Apparently the explosion left me hearing impaired, or in other words I’m now 80% deaf in both ears. So before I was allowed to leave the hospital wing my parents had to go get me some hearing aids from the muggle world. I mean they work great; it’s just weird having to little plastic things in my ears all the time.

That’s when Scorpius explained how I got back to Hogwarts. Apparently Whisp was the one who brought me back, she had carried me through the shadow realms and back to the people I cared about. And she is the only one who knows what happened during the battle.

As I went to talk to her she explained it like this.

I began the fight using my ability over fire, but even that wasn’t strong enough to fight Sophietia. Her Killing Curse was more powerful than I though, but used my own wand to protect myself. That’s when Enobaria used her magic and blew up the church close by. I was hurt but not as bad as Sophietia and that was when Whisp got me out.

I don’t know if Enobaria made it out or not but to her I am grateful for she saved my life.
